We are looking for volunteers!!
Interested in volunteering with the PGHRA? Check out the position descriptions below for more details, and if you think you would like to help out please email us at northernbcreining@gmail.com, attend one of our monthly general meetings, or contact us on Facebook.
Sponsorship: Help collect donations from various sponsors and help advertise for the sponsors we have! Being able to branch out and find additional sponsors is a great asset to have.
Whipper-In: We need someone to run the gate at our schooling shows and our major show. This ensures the competitors know what order that are competing in and helps our show run smoothly! Myrna Thiessen has volunteering to coordinate the whipper-in schedule, but will need volunteers! Contact Myrna on Facebook.
Scribe: We need a scribe every time we have a judged event. Being a scribe is a great learning opportunity as one can learn how the class is judged. Often this is a paid position at our major event as we also expect the scribe to be responsible for the judge (picking up from the airport, pick up and dropping off at the hotel on a daily basis, etc.).
Tractor Driver: We need someone to harrow multiple times during out reining events as the ground is a very important aspect to keeping our reining horses safe while they do their sliding stops. Anyone that will be harrowing needs to be trained by the PG Horse Society so if you are interested in this position please don't delay so we can get you the training you need. This position is also often a paid position for our major event as we also expect the tractor driver to be in charge of all the ground prep leading up to our major show.
Announcer: We need someone to announce during our major event. The announcer can advertise for our sponsors and help our show to continue to run smoothly. This is also usually a paid position and the announcer is expected to be there very day for the duration of the show each day.
Dinner & Dance Coordinator: Our major fundraiser needs many hands to be able to be successful.
Thank you card distributor: After a successful year we need to make sure we thank all the people that helped make it happen.
Schooling Show Secretary: We need someone to collect money at each of our schooling shows and write out the order of go for each class.
Show Set Up Crew: At our major even we need people to help with stall labeling, setting up the win photo area, putting up banners, setting out cones and chairs, laying our prizes and preparing the show office. At our schooling shows we need cones and chairs set out as well as trail courses set up at the appropriate times.
